The hpwebsetup only works in a Linux environment - if you are using Windows you have to re-install. You can do that by uninstalling or just installing again using the force option. If you have to re-install you can preconfigure the agent component using RDU - make sure you check the box that says to force the changes if it is already configured. And then when you install the component make sure you do it with the force flag to make sure it installs over the top of the same version of agent.

-Rich

Hi all,

When I have installed the management agent on a system without configuration of the agent.

Does the administrator account has blank password on it?

Thanks, remco

If you do not pre-configure the password or give it a password during installation then you cannot sign-into the web agent or System Management Homepage. What you should see when you browse to 2301/2381 is a page indicating that the password was not configured and that you cannot access the web pages until it is. If you do not see this page but get a sign-on screen then there was some other web based management application installed on the system where the password was configured.

-Rich

Thanks for your reply,

But does this mean we need to deinstall the management agents, and reinstall them again, to properly install them.

Thanks,
rEmco
Hi,

AFAIK, you can use the hpwebsetup (located in /opt/compaq/foundation/etc) command to change the password, if you are under linux of course.
You may configure the agents by running the Proliant Support Pack for certain supported OSes, including Windows and some Linux flavors.

Goto http://h18013.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/WebDoc/700/psp-users-guide.pdf and lookup the term "preconfiguration."
