Compiling MIBs

I am trying to receive traps from Dell PE servers. I downloaded the MIBs from Dell's site.

The mibs are located in the c:\dell\mibs folder. I used the command MXMIBS - a c:\dell\mibs\10982.mib, and it says file not found.

First, what is the correct syntax for compiling the Dell MIBs?

Second, do I need to compile the Dell Mibs in order to monitor my Dell servers from HPSIM? And if not, how do I configure my dell servers so as to be monitored from HPSIM?

Please help.

See the document "Compiling and customizing SNMP MIBs with HP Systems Insight Manager" at http://www.hp.com/servers/manage --> HP SIM --> Information Library for complete step-by-step instructions.

In the table on Page 11, you will see that the Dell MIBs are already provided and pre-compiled. They just need to be registered before use.

There a document at dell called
'Integrating_PowerEdge_Servers_into_HPSIM40.pdf' (see attach)

Basically:
1. copy 10982.mib to the mibs directory of HPSIM
2. include a non-numeric caracter at the beggining of the mib file (ex: dsa10982.mib)
3. compile it with mcompile
4. include with mxmib

But somehow hpsim 4.1 doesn't work well on my system
