Hi

i have just added a new EVA to my storage essentials. i was able to discover the 2 attached brocade switches in SIM but when i import them to Strorage essentials they do not appear on the map.

they are there in discovery, and say that they have been discoverd but are not shown.

any one know what could be wrong. i have used the same process to discover these as i did my cisco switches attached to my other eva, they show up, but not the brocades

cheers

When you click on the switches in Discovery is all the port/zoning & switch information available for the brocade switches??

Make sure the report cache has been updated under configuration > reports

You need to run a Get Topology and Get All Details for the switches before they will show up in the system map.

In discovery > details by clicking on the switch name you should be able to drill down to get more detail about your switch.

Firstly though, when doing the Test discovery you need to get a "SUCCESS as SMI-S" message. When using the brocade SMI agent you should point to the IP address of the server that the agent is installed on rather than the switches themselves.

Hi

experienced the same error. On the server with the Brocade SMI-S Agent there is a configurationtool.bat file to configure the Brocade SMI-S agent software.

Make sure you fill in the proxy switch IP address (and the credentials for it). You have to fill in the IP address of one SAN switch per fabric, preferably of the switch with the highest firmware version.

Restart the Brocade SMI-S agent service and try again, worked for me.

cheers
