Okay: Heres a problem that's been bothering me for a few weeks now.

I have one server that I can see in SIM, that is repeatedly reported as unreacable, and 10 minutes later, is again reachable. This cycles through about every 20/30 minutes. If I am logged on to the server(via SSH) I lose my ssh connection. I can reconnect right after. This is only on 1 server out of over 20 that I am looking at through SIM, all running the same OS. This server is part of an oracle cluster and is setup the same way as the other node in the cluster, and is in the same enclosure as the other node as well. The other node does not have this issue. Here is some info from SIM that shows when it's reachable/unreachable.

Not cleared System is reachable test_server 11/28/07 10:30 AM
Cleared System is unreachable test_server 11/28/07 10:20 AM
Not cleared System is reachable test_server 11/28/07 10:10 AM
Cleared System is unreachable test_server 11/28/07 10:00 AM
Not cleared System is reachable test_server 11/28/07 8:30 AM
Cleared System is unreachable test_server 11/28/07 8:20 AM
Not cleared System is reachable test_server 11/28/07 8:10 AM
Cleared System is unreachable test_server 11/28/07 7:50 AM
Not cleared System is reachable test_server 11/28/07 7:40 AM
Cleared System is unreachable test_server 11/28/07 7:30 AM
Not cleared System is reachable test_server 11/28/07 7:20 AM
Cleared System is unreachable test_server 11/28/07 7:10 AM
Not cleared System is reachable test_server 11/28/07 6:50 AM
Cleared System is unreachable test_server 11/28/07 6:40 AM
Not cleared System is reachable test_server 11/28/07 6:30 AM

I've checked the options as described in your link. They are all defaults except for the SNMP settings.

I did up my time-outs and retries as we have some systems in a remote location, however the machine in question is not remote. According to this, SIM uses ping to determine system availability; When I ran a constant ping on the machine in question it did not drop any packets for over 2 hours.

Thanks for the suggestion. Any other ideas?
