topic Previous forum links invalid ? in Server Management - Systems Insight Manager

Just browsing through what is new in the forum since my last visit I noticed that the SIM forum is moved from http://forums1.itrc.hp.com to http://forums12.itrc.hp.com, while this is easy to update in browser favorites, it also seems all links to other threads and topics in previous threads are invalid. Does anyone know if this is a temporary move or if the links will stay invalid ?

During the last 4-5 days accessing forums and manuals has been very iffy (technical term). This morning has been terrible.
Not sure how to bookmark the site. Links on several other HP pages point to different locations

It's my understanding that you shouldn't bookmark the URL as forumsXXX.itrc.hp.com, where XXX is some number. Rather, you should use the generic forums.itrc.hp.com. "forums.itrc.hp.com" is an alias to which many systems respond, whereas forumsXXX identifies a specific system that happens to be handling your request at the time you bookmark it. If that system happends to be down when you go to use that bookmark, you'll get an error.

At least, that's how I've had it explained to me.

In any event, I agree that the availability of the forums has been quite dismal for the past couple of days.

-- Rob

Yes, well, personal bookmarking is one thing, but "everyone" will usually create links that points to forumXX when replying, HP really should hide the nodenames behind an alias if they continue to move the forum around.
