The *PROLIANT* Support Pack is for installation on a ProLiant. A virtual machine guest is NOT a ProLiant; it is a simulation of hardware. The primary purpose of the ProLiant Support pack is to provide drivers for HP devices and to provide information about the system's health. A virtual machine guest has nothing to "break."

Your details above show that HP SIM is properly configured and communicating with the virtual machine guest using WMI (WBEM). It can gather information using this built-in Windows protocol about the configuration of the system--things you might be interested to know about the guest, like how many processors it has been configured with, the amount of memory allocated to it and disk space. Beyond that there isn't very much useful to know about a guest.

I have several servers that are guests on esx host servers. The servers have 2003 server on them and insight picks them up as:
Server
System Subtype Virtual Machine Guest, VMware ESX Guest
Product Model VMware Virtual Platform
OS Name Microsoft(R) Windows(R) Server 2003, Standard Edition
OS For Tool Filtering WINNT
OS Description Service Pack 1
OS Version 5.2.3790
Management Protocols HTTP:0.0, WBEM:1.0, SMH:2.0
I need to know if I should install support pack 7.91 which would include the system home management page on each of these servers. If not what support pack should be installed on the virtual servers>

Yes. In addition to getting hardware repairs done by using insight we also use it from an informational standpoint. I guess I need to know if anything should be put on the virtual servers. Some are not picking up the information that I provided and I am not sure why.
