Is the system unknown or unmanaged?
If you click on the system name and expand the Product Description it should list the managed protocols. Are there any?

I'm intrigued that even snmp cannot get access to it, you can use the Options->New System Type. Go through the motions of adding a new device, this tests whether the device is returning anything from an snmp query.

To be more precise, i tried to folow the userguide.pdf > "Storage Integration" section.

On my VLS, I have configure the CIMOM user & password.
In Insight, Options > Protocols Settings > Global Protocol Settings. I have enable WBEM and set the same user & password.

On my VLS, I have configure the SNMP community string
In Insight, Options > Protocols Settings > Global Protocol Settings. I have set the same SNMP community string.

But when i discover my VLS, the task result show :
Checking for WBEM support on system.
This system does not have any SMI-S CIMOM installed
Running WBEM rules based identification.
Cannot get ComputerSystem WBEM/WMI data from the system
...
Checking for SNMP support on system.
The system did not respond to SNMP, verify security settings and community strings.

So i still with a unmanage system

Thanks for your help

Does it accept SNMP? i.e. does the device have an snmp listener. It may just send snmp traps.

I mentioned using the Options->New System Type above to test access to the device. If this cannot get a response then nor will the identification process.
