HP SIM not discovering some servers

I'm using HPSIM 5.2 and I've noticed some servers are just not being discovered. The CMS server has network connectivity to the server, the are pingable and reachable via terminal services. But when I run a discovery certain servers are not found.
The servers have the Proliant support pack installed and are running the HP Insight Management Agents.
Any ideas?

are they getting discovered at all or not discovered properly.
Did u check SNMP settings properly on servers?

I thought that as long as there is SNMP communication allowed between the CMS and the server
that it would be discovered and populate with the Global snmp settings from within the
CMS server.
Is this wrong assumption?
Do I need to manually set the SNMP settings on the server?

Can you ping the servers from your SIM server? Is SNMP started and running? We set our SNMP manually here so I can't verify the dynamic SNMP settings that you may have.

I can ping the servers and SNMP is started and running - I'll have a go at changing the settings manually and see what happens. thanks for advice! I will try to find out if my thoughts on auto-populating snmp is correct or not.....
