HI Rob,

Didn't realise this was the wrong forum but I have checked on Command view and the EVAs can be seen there ,they are just not being seen in WEBES . I have had to uninstall 5.1 and install 5.0 which is working fine and I am going to leave it like that for now as apparently other people have been experiencing the same problems with WEBEs 5.1
Thanks for your help

Hello , I have recently installed WEBES 5.1 and have noticed that the EVAs which are attached to the san don't show up on WEBES for me to configure. I only get the san appliance coming up but after that I would have assumed that the two EVAs attached to the SAN woudl have appeared.

Do I have to add them manually as a storage cell managed entity ?

Any help would be much appreciated !

Thanks,

Karen

I thought that used CommandView to get the data.
It was a while since I installed WEBES but on my System Event Analyser screen its the CV EVA Server that has been added.

You may be better asking the question in the SAN forum as this is for HPSIM.

Karen,
Not necessarily the wrong forum, just that you might get a better response from the SAN forum.

Just thought I'd check and we're still on 5.0.

I did come across this;
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&objectID=c01234037&jumpid=reg_R1002_USEN

Also, looking at the download page it seems there's a data collector that goes with it. This seems to be a bit extra from 5.0 but I've not gone through the release notes yet.
Also noted a Patch Release 2.

Hi Rob,

I have actually just installed v5.0 and it is working fine for now. The customer is happy since the EVAs are now being monitored and so am I . Will leave WEBES 5.1 well alone for now.

Thanks for your help.

Karen

Hello Karen,

I have had the same problem several days ago. I discovered, if WEBES 5.1 was new installed without a previous version of WEBES still installed, it will not discover the EVA as entities. I have deinstalled WEBES V5.1, installed WEBES 5.0 and saw the EVA like you too. Then I installed WEBES 5.1 over the WEBES 5.0 and I saw the EVA as entities too. I assume, that WEBES 5.1 has problems to discover the EVA managed by the CV-EVA entity (Command View EVA server). I havn't test if SP2 for WEBES 5.1 fix this problem.

Bernd
