Hello,

when I'm checking the details of e.g. a switch in the HP SIM, there is the link "telnet to switch" that opens a telnet session on my computer to the switch. is it possible to create a link on each SERVER's details page that opens a remote desktop connection to the server?

thanks
alex

Not that I'm aware of. telent is quite a simple and generic protocol to open up. You'd need RDP and that would require quite a bit more windows specific code.

You could try adding an entry to the additionalWsDisc.props file that is located in the C:\Program Files\HP\Systems Insight Manager\config\identification folder.

Add an entry for Remote Desktop, port is 3389. This may work, although i guess it depends on how the RDP protocol responds to the port query. I'll try it on my end too.

On second thought, that file only responds to Web servers.. so that probably won't work. It may show up, but the link wouldn't work because it has no way of interpreting that you want to launch an RDP client.
