I'm pretty new to Insight Manager and would like to know the best way to deploy agents to servers and desktops?

I assume that Insight Manager can do it, but as yet have not seen an area to deploy agents to remote machines.

My prefered method for deployment would be via an MSI package applied to an Active Directory policy, but there don't seem to be MSI agents or am I looking in the wrong places - again? This way any new server/desktops would automatically get the agents without having to search and deploy.

Any help appreciated.

For ProLiant servers you should be using the ProLiant Support Pack which has all of the drivers necessary in addition to the agents. With Insight Manager 7 see the document "Deploying CSPs using Application Launch" at http://www.hp.com/servers/manage --> IM7 --> Support and Documents. HP Systems Insight Manager, the replacement for IM7, has a menu item "Initial PSP Installation" in the Deploy menu.

For clients the recommended solution is HP Client Manager. See http://h18000.www1.hp.com/im/index.html

When it becomes available, HP Client Manager will have a connector back to HP SIM.
