Collections based on "software/firmware" attr. does not work

Hello,

Custom collection based on the attribute "software/firmware" does not work anymore in HP SIM 5.2

It was working in SIM 5.0

I first updated from SIM 5.0 to 5.1 and then to 5.2.2
Thinking it may be an upgrade issue, I did a clean install (new OS and new Database). Same result...

I have encountered this same issue. I think it might be related to the discovery process and how SIM identifies/stores the OS type for the servers as I described in a recent post - https://forums11.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=1272193.

Hopefully HP can address this issue.

I'm in Barcelona right now attending the MS IT Forum (Tech-Ed) and I asked an HP Technical person, but it seams that HP is not aware of this problem.

Let me know if you find a solution or if you get some more infos from HP

Please provide a more detailed view along with screen shots of how you create the collection

What you expected the result to be and what you are seeing

I am having the same issue. When I choose new collection based on attributes and select a version of software I never get results. I have attached the screen shot of my results.

Same here, plus I only get three OS's to search from Windows NT, Windows 2000 and Linux - ESX

Well, I had this issue in SIM version 5.1 and 5.2 (fresh install).
It was working in 5.0 and, it is working again in 5.3sp1 (fresh install as well)
