Hi,
i configure SIM server and everything works fine except that when a machine is restarting the SIM doesn't let me know about it unless it is down at least 5 minutes. i tried my best to find where i can tune this option but with no success. i want the SIM to know if machine is not responding to ping for more then 30 seconds.
please advise

maayan,

if you go into tasks --> view all and edit the hardware polling task you should be able to see the current settings and adjust accordingly.

hope this helps

good luck

The timeout value is 4, but the polling task only runs every 5 minutes by default.
A server can reboot much quicker than 5 minutes.
You can change the frequency of the polling task.

But, and I'm not sure why this changed, ICMP is not listed as one of the protocols used. In an earlier version of HPSIM I set up an ICMP Ping only polling task that ran every minute.
