Marcel,

I'm unsure about the Linux and Oracle implications, but I am running our multiple SIM installations to a single, central MS SQL Server. The real concern of this setup is to ensure your database server is properly sized and has adequate network, disk, CPU, & memory resources to handle the influx from multiple application instances. It would also be smart for you to ensure that any mass database writes/reads, like those done by a data collection, inventory, or identification tasks from multiple instances are scheduled out so they don't run at the same time. Good luck.

Derek

Hello,

since the HP SIM Windows installation adds a unique number to the database name i assume i can add multiple SIM databases of different installations to the same database server?

Any known restrictions on either MS SQL or Oracle?

e.g.:
- 2 separate HP SIM Windows to same SQL instance
- HP SIM Windows and a SIM Linux to the same Oracle server

regards
