topic ESX SCSI Reservation Conflicts in Server Management - Systems Insight Manager

ESX provides a KB to minimize SCSI reservation conflicts when using HP Management Agents

http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=1004771

It essentially suggests you exclude (cmahost, cmahostd, and cmafcad) in the cma.conf file.

I've noticed in Insight Manager once these systems exclude these agents, they no longer show all the same information as before. I assume it's because of these exclusions (see before-after attachment). Product name and OS name no longer pull detailed information.

(1) Can someone tell me if this is specifically becuase I am excluding one of these agents?
(2) Which agent exclusion is causing this?
(3) Is this the only thing affected by excluding these agents?

I'd prefer the before but, if it's only these 2 information display issues, I can live with it to reduce SCSI reservation conflicts but, I want to make sure there isn't something else I'm not immediately noticing.

I only excluded cmafcad. This is the FC agent. That should leave the remaining agents. You'll lose the "external connections" link under storage.
