Hi,

In CIM7, there were mechanisms for scheduled deletions of old events, i.e., delete all cleared events older than two weeks. I can't find anything similar in SIM. Does this exist, or will it be implemented in a future version?

Thanks,
- Steve
Steve, if you are referring to the HP-UX Systems Inventory Manager (SIM) you are in the wrong place. I can move this question, but want to be sure we are both talking about the same SIM!
(I do not know the answer to your question if this is the HP-UX Manager.

No, I was refering to the Windows-based HP Systems Insight Manager - the one which is replacing Insight Manager 7.

Thanks,
- Steve
Steve -

It looks like HP removed that feature from HPSIM and replaced it with automatic clearing of the events. I'm not sure if it will be added since this software is already released and would require a change in coding. But you're correct. It seems that this feature no longer exist.

That functionality is still present.

First define an Event list that pulls up all events older than 14 days.

Second, use the Delete Events task (under Options->Events->Delete Events...) to create a periodic task that runs every so often against that event list.
