https://community.hpe.com/t5/server-management-systems/hp-sim-5-3-install-problems/m-p/4379517#M36798 I just tried this weekend updating to sim 5.3.. here's and had to back out of it..<BR /><BR />- memory issues - java is running worse in this version (and no java config settings in the globalsettings.props file)<BR />these are the normal lines<BR />java_plugin_cache=disabled<BR />java_plugin_classid=clsid\:8AD9C840-044E-11D1-B3E9-00805F499D93<BR />java_plugin_codebase=/ui/classes/j2re-1_4_1_04-windows-i586-i.exe\#version\=1,4<BR />java_plugin_param_type=application/x-java-applet;jpi-version\=1.4<BR /><BR /><BR />- no cluster identification<BR />- rsp hangs continually and why does it take 45 minutes to install?<BR />- database issues when nic teamed - after the installation my nic team went into failover mode and then would not come back. I tried re-building the team and some component that was updated caused the team to go south.<BR />- re-poplulation of the database - could not use mxnode or old host file to restore the hosts into the database.<BR />- disabled systems - when I installed and tried to use it when it saw the devices it disabled them - which means I have to manually discover them.<BR />- manual discovery is gone<BR />- subnet discovery (automatic dicovery) says it's running and then doesn't - was quirky<BR />- rsp installs but when you go into the sim menu's to set it up gets an error.<BR /><BR />Fatal error: Call to undefined method DOMDocument::document_element() in C:\hp\hpsmh\data\htdocs\isee\isee-functions.php on line 1852<BR /><BR />- java tried adding the following line<BR />JVMMAXHEAP=1500<BR />on the advice of hp - mxdomainmgr.exe gets to 400 meg and restarts continously.<BR /><BR />- when rsp updates the webes database goes south?<BR /><BR />- why is rsp installing a local msde database when I'm using remote sql for insight manager?<BR /><BR />- can't import host file from previous version<BR /><BR />- can't use mxnode to repopulate the database<BR /><BR />- osem 1.47 disables itself after about 24 hours of operation<BR /><BR />so far I've tried to go back to 5.2 sp2 and the memory errors are just as bad.<BR /><BR />Why is hp turning out such bad software?
