I dont think so. The installer will not proceed if SQL 2005 or above is not detected.

I am still running SIM 5.2 on SQL 2000 and cannot upgrade to SQL 2005/2008 due to various reasons. I thought I read somewhere that SIM 5.3 is not supported on SQL 2000 but I can't remember where. Does anyone know if I can upgrade 5.2 to 5.3 SP1 with a SQL 2000 backend?

Thanks
Nelson

What about all the systems and servers which are integrated in hp sim? Does the upgrade automatically migrate them???

Hello.

I don't agree. My test SIM server was initially installed with SIM 5.0 and upgraded successfully with all the new versions when they were released until the current one which is 5.3 SP1 and I never changed the SQL version which is still 2000 (8.00.818 SP3).

Regards.
