Hi,
Every week or so I need to keep restarting these 2 services on random servers:HP System Management Homepage and HP Version Control Agent. I notice something is up by seeing an 'i' next to the 'Software Status' in SIM (version 5.2 with SP2). If I click on 'software status' it says: "Version Control Agent Not Detected" and if I click on the 'Syatem Management Homepage' it shows "There is no System Management Home Page for SERVERNAME".
This has been going on since I set up SIM about 6 months ago and until I discovered that restarting the services on the affected server then running a 'software status poll' and 'identify system' fixed it I was having to remove it from SIM then rediscover and go through the process of reinstalling agents.
Does anyone know why this is failing and why I need to keep restarting services.
Any help appreciated.
Steve

What version of the SMH and VCA do you have installed on the servers you are managing? I also had this issue, but it was pretty much fixed when I upgraded those two apps.
