Blank screen when installing updates from version control agent 2.2.0.820

Hi,

the version control agent reports that updates are available. I select the updates that I want to install and press the install button. After that I end up with a blank popup window and nothing happens. The title bar says: https://:2381/cgi-bin/vcagent/cgi.

Any idea how to fix this?

It worked before, but for some reason now it doesn't. It happens on all our servers.

I am having the same problem. At first I thought it was an issue with IE, so reinstalled IE - no luck.

Then I tried reinstalling the Version Control Agent - no luck.

Any help on this would be appreciated.

Ok woohoo I think i figured it out.

All I did was uncheck "Automatically Install Minimum Dependancies" and the screen was no longer blank.

If you goto your vcagent for the server its located at the bottom of the page right next to the install button.

"Automatically Install Minimum Dependancies"
Uncheck the box and everything works.

HP, are you working on this? This is a big loss of functionality. This is supposed to ensure that you are installing at least a minimum base level of drivers.

What is VCRM Version,

check VCRM log for additional error details.

We have the same issue and unchecking the dependencies option corrects the blank screen. We're running SIM v5.2 and when I do a properties of the Version Control Repository Manager executable (cpqsrhmo.exe) it returns version 2.1.8.780.

Please fix this HP.

Attached is our VCRM log.
The blank screen only happens on our x64 servers (on x86 servers the Version Control Agent doesn't have the ability to install multiple items and it doesn't have the dependency check option).

Matt i beleive you need to make sure you are on the latest version the System Managememt Homepage and the Version Control Agent.

Our x86's all disply this behaviour.

There is another possibility as to why the pop-up window that shows which packages to install may be coming up blank - the VCRM may be in a high CPU state.

I witnessed this extensively last week & the problem went away when the VCRM process cpqsrhmo.exe CPU went back down to 0.

So far I have only managed to track down that our two HPSIM servers mxadmin accounts appear to be triggering high CPU on cpqsrhmo.exe for ca 30 minutes every 4 hours. The quest continues to identify what process exactly is doing this.

As a side note since upgrading all our blades to the latest support pack. We now get proper inclusion of minimum dependancies.

Finally Version Control is starting to deliver.

For us we have the following components.

Insight 5.3
HP Insight Management Agents 8.30.0.0
HP System Management Homepage 3.0.2.77
HP Version Control Agent 2.2.1.830
