Identify system stuck on pending

when i try to identify 2 of my servers that are running esx 4i they just stick at pending forever ?

anyone seen this before ?

i am trying to get the wbem identification working as they have to SMH

When you say "Pending forever", how long is forever? :)

In our environment there is a scheduled task for a daily system identification. This can go for *hours* with the number of servers we have.

If you try to identify a server that is already in the queue for the scheduled process, it will sit in pending until the daily task completes, before starting your manual one.

This can be checked under tasks & logs > view all scheduled tasks

i mean that there are no scheduled tasks running and 5 days later the job to identify that system is still pending :(

hmm

I am guessing you have done a mxstop and mxstart of the system? might be a stuck process?
