I have a ramsan400 and 440 and they are both enabled to send traps to SIM. They use snmpv2c but I am not able to recieve traps despite the fact that HP SIM states this is supported. How can I configure or enable traps to be sent and recieved using this protocol?

hi,

is hp sim defined by name or ip address in the storage snmp setup - in case of name resolution issues.
have you discovered these devices in hp sim yet ?

While the OS transport layer may be "SNMPv2c," the actual syntax of traps that HP SIM understands is SNMPv1. If your devices send traps using the additional syntax available beyond SNMPv1, then HP SIM may or may not understand them.

Is there any work around for this? or will a newer version of SIM support interpretting snmpv2c?
