topic SMH Data Source in Server Management - Systems Insight Manager

Since we are still using SNMP as the main protocol for SIM, we need to find a way to default the SMH data source to SNMP instead of WBEM on new Windows server builds. Is there a setting that can be changed to control this? A registry entry or ini file setting that can be scripted?

Hi,

If WBEM provider is installed then the default Data source in SMH would be WBEM.

Do not install wbem provider on the new windows server, so only SNMP would be available for SMH.

You can also use SIM to change the datasource to SNMP together for all the Servers.

Regards
Sins

Hi Jeff Easton,

In SMH you can set the default data source as SNMP.
Goto settings->Select data source->SNMP or WBEM

You can select SNMP as data source only when the HP Insight Foundation agents and SNMP are installed and running. Otherwise it will be disabled for selection in SMH.

Thnx
Predator
