hi,

this could be due to network maint work or perhaps bottlenecks in your network at busy times, also any recent changes in routing.

hth

We have HP insight manager version 5.1 with sp1 and we are experiencing sims producing false messages where it says a system is down but the system is actually fine. Example below.
We get these too frequently, any help would be greatly appreciated

Event Name: System is unreachable
URL: https://servername/
Event originator: servername
Event Severity: Critical
Event received: 17-Jul-2009, 07:09:40
Event description: The current system is no longer reachable from the central management server, hardware status polling has marked this system as not responding

The message is not false, it is what HP SIM is observing: it is unable to reach the target. As the other poster suggests, this may be due to changes in the network. You may have to tune the timeouts and retries for status polling for your network and not rely on the defaults.
