topic SIM Not Send Messages When Disk Failed? in Server Management - Systems Insight Manager
We currently use Compaq Insight Manager. Recently I tried to setup HP SIM 5.1 SP1. I setup the AutomaticEventHandler to send me all events for all systems. I received messages when a server is off-line so it seems to be working but it doesn't send me email in other critical events. Last week 1 server had a faild drive in its RAID 5. Compaq Insight Manager sent me the email and I got nothing from HP SIM. What is wrong here? What did I miss?
Thx.

There are two ways HPSIM works. It polls servers to see if they're there and generates an event if they're not - that's working.

The second relies on the agents installed on the servers (part of the PSP). They detect the hardware issue and generate an SNMP Trap.
So on your servers you need the HPSIM Server added as a trap destination for the community name you use.

Solved.

I found that by default the Physical service is not checked so after I checked the Physical box I got an alert from HIM server.
