Error starting VMM agent

Hi all,
I had installed HP SIM 5.3 SP1 and VMM 3.7.
I did install VMM agent on all my ESX 4.0.0 servers and all of them presents the same error:

I'm currently facing the same issue.
My ESX servers all have advanced licenses, and I have a vCenter server foundation running - but it would appear as if this is a problem directly between the VMM agent, and the ESX server...

Product: vSphere 4 Advanced Licensed for 2 physical CPUs (1-12 cores per CPU)

ESX 4.0 does not require VMM agent to be installed on it. You just need to go-ahead and do VMM registration with correct WEBM credentials for the system.

Riders, on what info are you basing that statement? I can't see how I would be able to register my vm hosts, without a vmm agent installed. I certainly have tried, but ofc it's unable to communicate with the vmm agent, and thus registration fails...Tried deploying the vmm agent, and it STILL complains "ERROR - VML -2: VMM does not manage ESX Base license edition!"

I upgraded my agents to 4.8.0.1047, still get the same error...Is this simply not supported on ESX4 or what?

I've btw been unable to verify if it's really true that ESX4 does not require VMM to be installed, as I JUST happen to have a WBEM subscription issue with my ESX4's aswell.

I really dont know what to do with this error.
Actaully I have other problem with ESX4, all SMH does not show Management Processors. I dont if this errors are correlated.

Did anybody solve this issue? We are facing the same problem, but it seems as if it was once running. Not shure what has changed since then...

Hi, we had a case openned with HP about this question and the answer was that it is a bug and will be solved at next release of SMH.
