Install Hangs - Vunerability & Patch Management section

Hello,

I am installing ICE 3.10 onto a newly built Windows 2003 server. It has hung at the Vunerability & Patch Management section and it's not going anywhere. When I look in the vpmsetup.log I see the entry below. The databases server is on a diffent machine on a Polyserve cluster, is this a problem to have this configuration? It has installed other components fine

Lisa, pease check the user you'r using has the correct permissions to create a DB on the remote Server.
Check also if a DB with the same name is already present.

Hi Diego,

yes the account I am using is a SysAdmin on the SQL Server. I have had a look and cannot see any db's with vpm in the name. The error does not state what the db would be called so it's difficult to tell

VPM is being discontinued. Dont bother installing it. Deselect it.

There is nothing from HP to replace it.
In all the SIM installs I have done for a few years no-one has been interested in using it. They usually have used some other software manufacturers product like Symantec to perform the same functionality.

HP are recommending this product from Lumension to replace VPM.
