Insight Agent on esx 3.5 u3 missing snmp setting

Hello guys,

probably i'm posting a dumb answer !!!

I installed hpmgmt8.1.0 on esx 3.5 u3 server, all seems to gone well, but when I open the wweb interface inside the page "Settings" snmp is missing.

On windows machine that field is present and permit me tio configure snmp and trap destination
and send a test trap.

You should have configured SNMP as part of the install. Also 8.10 is quite old. But, you should be able to see the SNMP Settings from the SMH. There should be an SNMP Option under the Settings tab. From there you edit the actual snmpd.conf file providing you have suitable access.
I've found that the best approach is to edit the hpmgmt.conf example provided to include all of the snmp settings and do a silent install as per the Readme.

Hello Rob,

SNMP is started and configured, After the installation the web page has got the "SNMP Setting" option missing, to resolve I had to reboot the server even if documentation said that version 8.1.1 doesn't needs restart.

I have still a question reading the release notes has to be download:

agent 8.3.0 for esx 3.5 update 5
agent 8.2.0 for esx 3.5 update 4
agent 8.1.1 for esx 3.5

My servers has 3.5 update 3, can I install the latest version ?
