topic iLO2 Link down status in Server Management - Systems Insight Manager

One of our servers is showing the yellow "minor" error in SIM due to the iLO2 not being plugged in. This alone is odd because none of our other servers show that status and none of their iLO cards are plugged in. I went to the local System Management Homepage and set the option "Link Down Status Included?" to "Ignore Status" and click on the set button, but when i go back to the hompage, the option to report status is set again, causing the "minor" error- again.

Any idea how I can re-set that for now? We don't have the infrastructure at the moment to support the iLO cards, but will in the future. I still would like to clear this error out of the system in the meantime.

You should look into the 'shared network port' feature of iLO2. You can use the same network connection as the server's NIC0.

Can the ILO use the server's NIC-0 if the NICs are teamed?

Yes. Basically another MAC address is presented on the port for iLO and that's transparent to the host OS and the teaming driver.
