topic SSH for SIM and Windows in Server Management - Systems Insight Manager

I'm confused about the requirement for SSH in a pure Windows/SIM environment. Do I need to install SSH on each server in order to use SIM, or is that only needed when SIM is running on a Unix platform?

SSH is used for running remote command line tools or batch files on the managed servers. If you don't plan on doing this with your windows servers, you do not need to install SSH on them. However, you should be sure to install the Proliant support pack on each one for maximum use of the remaining menu items in SIM.
