facing error when configure hp server send critical email

i want my hp server Dl380 g5 send sms when critical error occurred
in hp control page i choose Optionsâ Eventsâ Automatic Event Handlingâ Email Settings.
when i click send test email button i see this error :
The email could not be sent: Authentication error
my os is centos5.4 i must install pstfix too or not and why i receive that error ?

Hi,
HP SIM uses SMTP mailing, so you need to ensure that the account settings and mail relay server details.

It worked pretty well for me. Well, we have exchange server which need authentication.

It shouldn't matter what is OS installed on your target machine which you want to monitor. Only make sure to have proper connectivity to/from CMS and mail server.
