Hi all, we are using HP-SIM V5.3SP2 withe the latest MIB updates we can find (upd40) but SIM cannot identify the MSA's tagging them as system type = unknown.

The discovery, says it has no known web servers (what about the SMU on HTTP?) and no SNMP system type manager rule can be found.

What do I have to do for the MSA to be properly registered????

Hi

The Mibkit you downloaded contains some msa Mibs (for the MSA2000 series) however you need to create a new system type rule to identify properly your MSA.

To do so :
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c02046182/c02046182.pdf

Page 146 : create a new rule to identify. You need the ip address of the MSA Controller.

hope it helps

fred

Thanks that worked.
I was hoping that there would be some update to defined new system types but it seems not.
