I know the cons of downgrading, but staying at version 6.0, which was very unstable (almost not usable..) was not an option.

Does anyone know a possible reason for the CLI issues we have?

Hi,

Since we upgraded to hpsim 6.0 I have this issue witht the CLI:
I can't execute any command, it always complains about bad username/password. I am logged in with the user which I also use to log in to the hpsim GUI....

PS D:\HP SIM\update\MIB> mxmib.exe
There was a problem connecting to the HP Systems Insight Manager server. Make sure that:
1. Your username has been added to HP Systems Insight Manager.
2. Your username and password, if specified, are correctly spelled.
3. HP Systems Insight Manager is running.
4. You used '--' for any long options and double quotes if your username includes a domain.
Example: <COMMANDNAME> --user "mydomain\myusername" --pass mypassword

Can anyone help me with this?

Thanks.</COMMANDNAME>

this output means sim is not running. i believe what you are saying about username/system/login is correct.

OS version? x86/64? did you change username/domain before after sim install?
check if you have registry corrupted? hklm->software->hewlett-packard->hp sim.. installPath and other check both synode6432 and normal space.

these above are possibilities. reply if it solves?

Hi,

I think SIM is running, because I can log in to the GUI without problems.
We are running SIM on a x86 virtual machine with w2k3 r2 on it.
In the registry, the key HKLM/SOFTWARE/Hewlett-Packard/Systems Insight Manager/Settings/InstallPath shows value "C:\Program Files\HP\Systems Insight Manager", so this seems fine to me.
