      <title>Email Alter through SIM</title>

      <description>Dear All,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;We have a system insight manager v6.0 installed. We wants email alaters for any hardware failure in any of our server and we are not able to find any way of doing it. Please help. If we set this indivisually on servers then it send mail but through SIM nothing is coming. Even if we pull the power cable from PS no alter is coming on sim.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;2ndly, how much info we can get from IBM servers?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Thanks guys.</description>

      <description>do you mean "alerts"? How should HPSIM receive them from your servers? Do they send SNMP traps? If yes, you need to configure yours ervers tos end traps to your SIM.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>hi&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;user guide of HP SIM should help you out :&lt;BR /&gt;1/configure the managed servers to send snmp traps or wbem indications to the HP SIM server.&lt;BR /&gt;2/Configure HP SIM to send you an email on reception of  alert (critical for instance)&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;A href="http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c02046182/c02046182.pdf" target="_blank"&gt;http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c02046182/c02046182.pdf&lt;/A&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;1/Page 21 of the user guide and page 34&lt;BR /&gt;2/page 48 for event management&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;hope it helps&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;fred</description>
