I'm guessing it's been detected via something else and is not directly available on the network?
So HPSIM will not be able to assess whether it is up / down if it cannot access it directly.

In HPSIM 6.0 there is one tape library that I am unable to monitor. The error message is as follows:
Current monitoring state: Disabled
(This system cannot be monitored.)

I try to activate the monitoring of the tape drive but all the radio buttons to setect are grayed out. The library is a MSL6030

No, actually, it is online and CAN be accessed. I have 4 other MSL libraries and all of them get accessed the same way. Just this one and I cannot get any logs from the library
Hi,
what Rob means is, the MSL seems to be discovered in-directly by i.e. the backup server. SIM did not get any direct connection to it.
Check if you can see a network name and/or a IP address in system details.
If not, run a discovery on the IP.
regards
Markus
