You can use SIM to perform the initial PSP install. Go to Deploy-->Deploy Drivers, Firmware and Agents-->Initial Proliant Support Pack Install.

This requires that the support packs be loaded into the Version Control Repository Manager. The VCRM configured to trust the SIM server. OpenSSH be installed and configured on the CMS.

HP SIM uses an identification process to determine what a system is and how is it managed. The identification runs initially immediately after a system is discovered and by default is scheduled to run every day to pick up any changes. Identification is basically HP SIM playing 20 questions with the device: Do you run SNMP? Do you use DMI? Do you use WBEM? Is anything responding on HTTP port 80? port 280? port 2301? port 2381? ...and so on.

Unmanaged means that HP SIM cannot find anything it can identify as a management protocol on the system. It can't find anything to manage with so there is no data to view.

Unknown means that HP SIM has classified the device as manageable (the discovery has worked) but it does not have a rule to classify the system that works.

Are these systems ProLiants?
