I don't see that. You mean it's on page 9 and that is about the SCVMM management pack, not the SCOM management pack.

I want to monitor the hardware for a Hyper-V system. I've found the following MP for HP Proliant hardware monitoring: http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/servers/management/mom2007/index.html

It only says it supports a couple of Windows OS Server versions like Windows Server 2008, not MS Hyper-V.

- Does this mean I can use this MP for a Windows Server 2008 with Hyper-V role installed and not for Microsoft Hyper-V Server 2008?
Hi Chris,
The MP you found is for windows 2008/2003 that are installed on HP proliant servers installed.

This means that you should have the PSP installed (if you install the OS through SmartStart, it is there by default) on those systems to get any alerts related to hardware.

This's not related to which function the OS is being used for.

Regards,
Mahmoud Ibrahim
Hi Chris,

As per the Document Attached it is supporting

Windows Server® 2008 X64 and X86 Editions (including Server Core)
Windows Server® 2008 R2 x64 Edition (including Server Core)

As Microsoft Hyper-V Server 2008 is a normal Windows Server Core with Hyper-V and it should be supported.

Another idea, as long as you can install the PSP is install so "HP Insight Management Agents" and "HP Insight Management WBEM Providers" this system will be monitored without issue.

As the MP is monitoring Two types of Events
(Windows Events)
ProLiant base hardware events
ProLiant environmental hardware events
ProLiant remote management processor events
ProLiant cluster hardware events
ProLiant network interface events
ProLiant server storage events

(WMI Events)
ProLiant Memory events
ProLiant Processor events
ProLiant Sensor events
ProLiant System events
ProLiant Ethernet events
ProLiant Smart Array events
ProLiant SAS events
ProLiant SCSI events
ProLiant Fibre Channel events
ProLiant SATA events

The successful installation of Proliant Support Pack with ensure that those sources will be available, so successful monitoring is expected.

Regards,
Mahmoud Ibrahim
