topic Tryin to send notifications to Pager in Server Management - Systems Insight Manager

I am attempting to get HP SIM to send pages. I have checked the modem and to OS see it and it works correctly. It is a USR v.90 modem. I have setup a event that if detected to send a page. I turned the nic off on the server as a test. It took SIM a while to figure out the device is down(a polling issue somewhere?). And when it did I saw no modem activity. I setup the COM port to the correct one but I saw no other places the add an init string or anything like that. Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

I'd first verify that your alerting is working by changing it to just e-mail.

You could also try calling a script or something similar and see if you can get that to talk to the modem.

As regards SIM Detecting things, the default chaecks are 5 minutes, these can be shortened, I've dropped mine down to a minute.

Where can I find the Polling value to change it to 1 minute? I can seem to find it.

Thanks

Alerting is working. It did send an email to me when a device went down. But getting the modem to work is still an issue.
