We have several VMs living in our ESX cluster that are not reachable by HP SIM. With HP SIM 5.3 we suspended monitoring for these VMs so that these would not show up a needing attention.

Now in a parallel from-scratch HP SIM 6.0 installation we also suspended monitoring (Suspend indefinitely) of these VMs. However every day after the HW status polls these VMs are enabled for monitoring again - and (since these are not reachable from HP SIM) pop up as "system needs attention".

What did we miss / do wrong? Any ideas?

Additional note: With HP SIM 5.3 we had this problem once in a while then servers got renamed. Deleting the servers and waiting for the next discovery did the job. Deleting (and rediscovering) the VMs in question in HP SIM 6.0 did not help.

We just installed HP SIM 6.2 and the same problem still exists. This is very annoying!

I guess we will have to disable the discovery of VMs living on ESX hosts.

Anyone else an idea?
