Hi,

Just wondering with the initial deployment of the agents. When you select the Deploy > Deploy Drivers, Firmware and Agents > Initial ProLiant Support Pack Install

Does this actually update the current system to the level of PSP selected or does it just install the agents that allow SIM to interact with the server?

Regards,

Hi,

Using the HP SIM feature Initial ProLiant Support Pack Install because you do not have an HP Insight Management Agent (especially VCA)

When you install the ProLiant Support Pack for the first time, the “Initial ProLiant Support Pack Install” process enables you to install a ProLiant Support Pack to a Windows system. This process also configures the:

Systems to use the trust certificate from the HP SIM.

Setting to use the desired HP Version Control Repository Manager (VCRM).

After running the Initial ProLiant Support Pack Install process, you can use the “Install Software and Firmware” tool to update the systems.

The HP SIM Install Software and Firmware tool requires that the HP VCRM be installed on servers containing a repository and that the Version Control Agent be installed on the target system and configured to use a repository managed by VCRM.
