Seting up managed systems automatically

Hello,

From the HP SIM user guide:

This step can be performed once for all the Windows managed systems you are setting
up.

The initial Proliant Support Pack install process enables you to install a Proliant Support Pack to a Windows system because you do not have any HP Insight Management Agents, especially HP Version Control Agent, installed. This process also configures the systems to use the trust certificate from the HP Systems Insight Manager and the setting to use the desired HP Version Control Repository Manager.

I draw the conclusion that you can discover HP systems on the network and set them up as managed systems without having to visit them one by one ??

Correct. If you have ProLiant servers in your network that do not have the appropriate agents, turn Discovery Filters off and discover them through automatic or manual discover. (This assumes, however, that SNMP is available on them). You can then use the Initial PSP install to distribute the ProLiant Support Pack. After it is complete, run a Device Identification task so HP SIM can recognize the agents.
