Well you need to separate HPSIM from the Agents.
You log into HPSIM using accounts added into HPSIM that then use your standard password authentication.

The Agents have three accounts, Administrator, Operator and User. These are NOT Local Computer Accounts.

If you have a know Server where you can log into the Agent Administrator. Then you can simply copy the C:\compaq\wbem\cpqhmmd.acl from that Server to unknown ones.

Another way is to pull down the latest Softpaq into a new directory structure. Run setup.exe which will fire up the Remote Deployment Utility.
You can configure the Agents here, adding passwords, setting the Trust mechanism and adding the Certificate for the HPSIM Server.
You can then use this utility to deploy the softpaq to a target server. If the target Server software is already up to date you can force it to overwrite it.

Lastly, you can also install the VCRM and the agents can be configured here.
The Agents need to be configured before deployment so you have the correct password etc being delivered.
System Managemant Password - Reset

I'll bet this question has been asked a million times. A search turns up no real answer.

I'm a new Net Admin. finishing up a neglected install of Insight Manager (and I'm not 100% clear on software and versions, etc. I think I'm installing HP Insight Manager 4 but these version numbers and component names area jumble). The Proliant Management agents were installed and passwords were assigned. They have been forgotten. As a result, I can't log into the WEB System Management pages.

I need to reset the passwords.

A document I found via a search said to "preconfigure the passwords" before install. How does one do that?

I realize that can't be made TOO easy, otherwise, why put the passwords on at all...

A little help?

DWM
