I am using HP SIM 4.1 on a Windows 2003 server. I usually get to my Management server from my desktop, using WebAdmin, and rarely go the actual server that HP SIM was installed on, however, I needed to check something on the server and when I try to login to my server http://servername.domain.org:280 it opens MS Internet and a message is displayed "Please wait. Checking for Java Plug-In". I re-installed j2re1_4_2 thinking this might fix it but to no avail. I am thinking it can't find the login.jsp and that is why it is hanging. Please advise. Thanks, Cynthia

Hi, ddi you by chance just do Microsoft Updates? I am thinking I saw this problem before, and HP has a fix for it here :
Microsoft security patch for MS04-025
http://www.hp.com/go/hpsim

I would try that first , if that doesnt help you might try setting the default Java plugin path to the new version you just installed, instead of "Use default".

This is all assuming you use IE for your browser.

Joel

I have applied the patch but still get the same error.

any ideas?

Cheers
Richard

I installed the recommended HP SIM update from hp.com, after the MS patches were applied, and it fixed my problem so I am not sure what is going on. Check HP's website again and see if you can find anything. I will also look.
