We haven't seen that in the lab, during QA or the beta. Get it called in to customer services so it can be documented and escalated.

Installed 4.2 over a pre-existing 4.1 CMS and now I am seeing a large amount of unreachable and reachable events for servers and MPs on WAN links.

The global timeout and retry settings of 120 secs and 2 retries were unaltered from the 4.2 install and should be plenty forgiving for our WAN links.

I also tried changing the default Hardware Status Polling settings from their default of 4 and 1 to 120 and 2 with no effect.

Server is W2003 Std on a DL380 G2 with the DBs on a separate SQL 2000 box.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks.

We have that as well. I will also call this in.

We get system unreachable events, even after changing retries etc. and they come in one after another.

Check here for workaround. So far it seems to be working:

http://forums1.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=762032

Thank you for the workaround although I'm eager to see a better solution from HP.
