wrong product name being discovered

Hi, i am running SIM 4.2 sp1, about 2 weeks ago, i noticed 4 of my proliant dl380's are now showing up as Poweredge servers. I have other dl380's that are fine. i even deleted and let the discovery re-discover the servers and they still came back as Poweredge. can someone tell me how i can fix this?

Has someone added a new device to the manage system types section and maybe used the wrong parameters?

It's possible, my boss was in there trying to get the dell devices discovered, probably made a change. I see an entry for Poweredge in there, should i just delete it?

My guess is the definition is too broad and it's picking up the DL's in the same sweep.

I do not have any Poweredge servers in my list, so I'd guess it's been added.
You can always re-add at a later date.

that did it, i deleted the poweredge product name and rediscovered servers This time they cam back as dl380's. Thanks for the help.

thanks again rob. rewmoving the custom system type someone created fixed the problem.
