topic unmanaged servers in Server Management - Systems Insight Manager

Hello Everyone,
I have just installed for the first time HP SIM 4.1 on a Windows 2003 server.I see that after a manual discovery, for some servers I obtained the complete information and for others I could obtain only few information. Also, for these servers I see at the system type: Unmanaged, and at the management Protocols I see only SMH:1. They all have HP Insight Management Agents installed. Do you have any idea? Is it related withSNMP on the clients side?

Thanks,
Costin

I think you have to install and configure SNMP on the unmanaged systems, point the traps on the nodes to your HP SIM Server, and then restart the service...

Then, re-initiate hardware and software polling if you want immediate results.

I have just seen the More settings options in Manually Discover which let me choose the system type. After I re-Discover them, all information looks fine
Anyway, thanks for your help
Costin
