SIM keeps sending alerts even after condition has cleared

HP SIM 4.2 with SP1 on W2K

Coming back to SIM to see if I can't get this working.

The alert messages come from HPUX 11.23 systems and are configured via Event Monitoring Service.

Trouble I have is that the SIM keeps sending the alert messages even after the error condition has been cleared.

Example, a filesystem full alert from HPUX/EMS is sent to the SIM server via SNMP trap with severity critical. I get the message OK. I clear the filesystem and thus clear the condition. However the SIM keeps sending the message, even after the condition has been cleared. I can stop the SIM alerts only by disabling the Automatic Event that I created.

Question, once the condition has been cleared how do I tell SIM that this condition has been resolved? How do I rearm the event(s)?

I get the feeling that SIM is not a worthwhile product. In my short experience with it, I am so NOT impressed with this product.

If somebody can provide me some directions to change my mind, I'm all ears.
