Harddrive ROM Updates with SIM 4.2 ?

Hello,
i am trying to get around having to copy CP005478.scexe to a floppy to update HD's we have and that need updating to HPB2 A.. I tried the RDU, but it doesnt 'see' it as an update..

Also: Those drive ROM updates dont seem to show in the repository ?

No it wont see it.

HD Updates are not available via the VCA as far as I know.

I'm not sure a .scexe file would be picked up by the repository.

Stefan, just quick update on this. Today, hard drives don't support any form of online updating of their firmware. They are required to be offline and not processing read/write requests. Needless to say, this is unfortunate.

However, the industry is working on a solution. I suspect that in early 2006 we'll start to see disks that support this - at least when used in an array.

That would be a great enhancement, like going from the Offline ROM Update for the System ROM to the online version..
