      <description>I'm running HP SIM 4.2 SP2 and it reports the following summary information:&lt;BR /&gt;System Type: Unknown&lt;BR /&gt;Product Name: &lt;BLANK&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;OS Name: &lt;BLANK&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I've imported the latest MIB package from PSP 7.30 and the VMware MIBs.  anyone gotten this stuff to display correctly?&lt;/BLANK&gt;&lt;/BLANK&gt;</description>

      <description>That would imply SNMP on the ESX Server is not correctly set up.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Have you installed the HP Agents for ESX? They contain their own SNMP and the installation asks for the SNMP Config details. &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Once done and identified, you will still need to manually set the sub-type to vmware host (or something like that)</description>

      <description>I think you're probably right about the SNMP service on the ESX host.  The agents added the following line to snmpd.conf&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;rwcommunity &lt;STRING&gt; 127.0.0.1&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I think I need to replace the loopback address with the equivalent to "accept packets from any host".  &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Apparently, I can replace 127.0.0.1 with a specific IP address or "default"&lt;/STRING&gt;</description>

      <description>replacing:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;rwcommunity &lt;STRING&gt; 127.0.0.1&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;with:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;rwcommunity &lt;STRING&gt; default&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;solved my problem.&lt;/STRING&gt;&lt;/STRING&gt;</description>
