In fact I read that document and did everything in it but I didn't copy the globalsettings.props and nodesecurity.xml because I didn't have valuable config to transfer. I just wanted to have a link to the right database so that I didn't have to rediscover all my servers. Is the database connection config in those XML file also because I changed the ODBC connections and it didn't do anything.

I recently installed SIM 5.0 on a test server and want to move the installation to a new server but keep the original database. I do it according to the documentation: I install hpsim 5 on my new server and then I point my ODBC connections to the old database but the server is somehow still linked the new database.
What I wanted to know is where can I configure the connection to the database, other than the ODBC connection?

Thanks

If that is the purpose then after editing the ODBC connectors, editing the files named database.props and database.admin appropriately and then restarting the service should do.

Thanks, you solved my problem. But just for my comprehension, what is the ODBC connection for then???
I think that the ODBC connection that is getting created is mainly for the plug-ins (HP Virtual Machine Management, HP Vulnerability and Patch Management etc.,) to work along with HPSIM 5.0.
